Relief and Healing for Peripheral Neuropathy
Peripheral neuropathy is one of the top conditions that I treat in my practice. It is also one of the most rewarding to help people with because there are limited effective medical treatments available at this time.
It can be extremely frustrating to experience the uncomfortable sensations of peripheral neuropathy and many people worry about how it could affect their mobility as it progresses.
Promising news, that I am excited to share with those who are dealing with peripheral neuropathy, is that acupuncture stands out in the research. It excels at healing and improving the function of your nerves.
Peripheral neuropathy affects a great deal of people worldwide. Each person has a different experience, and the sensations you feel are unique to your body and nerves. Some of the most common sensations people come to me with are numbness (or a thickened skin feeling, like you’re walking on bubble wrap), burning, tightness, throbbing or shooting pain. Often, these sensations start in your toes and, over time, spread up your legs. They can also affect your hands and arms.
There are many causes of peripheral neuropathy, but the ones that I see most commonly are neuropathy that is caused by chemotherapy treatment, diabetes, and when the cause is determined to be idiopathic or unknown.
People who receive neuro-acupuncture for peripheral neuropathy often experience improved sensations after the first treatment. Still, sometimes, it can take a few treatments to notice a change.
Neuro-Acupuncture, incorporates a unique blend of traditional acupuncture techniques and modern understanding of the nervous system, precisely targeting the affected nerves. It improves your sensation, decreases pain, and allows you to be more active while enjoying life to its fullest potential.
