Trigeminal Neuralgia is a painful condition that affects the trigeminal nerve, also known as the fifth cranial nerve (CNV).

Most people with Trigeminal Neuralgia have one-sided facial pain that is often located around the mouth or cheek but it can also occur around the eye, temple or forehead. The pain can have a lacerating, electric or shooting quality. It usually starts off occurring infrequently, lasting for just a few seconds at a time.
