Relief from Trigeminal Neuralgia Pain with Neuro-Acupuncture
Trigeminal Neuralgia is a painful condition that affects the trigeminal nerve, also known as the fifth cranial nerve (CNV).
Most people with Trigeminal Neuralgia have one-sided facial pain that is often located around the mouth or cheek but it can also occur around the eye, temple or forehead. The pain can have a lacerating, electric or shooting quality. It usually starts off occurring infrequently, lasting for just a few seconds at a time. For some people however, the pain can be constant. The condition often gets worse over time and can become extremely severe for some people.
If you have been diagnosed with Trigeminal Neuralgia, your doctor will usually prescribe medication to help deal with the pain. Even with medication, many people find that their pain is still severe and their quality of life is diminished. Other treatment options include injections and surgery.
Neuro-Acupuncture for Trigeminal Neuralgia
Neuro-acupuncture treatments are individualized for each person and treat the specific nerve pathways that are activated and sensitized in trigeminal neuralgia. The treatments stimulate a natural regulating response and pain relief within the nervous system.
Trigeminal Neuralgia can be a life changing condition due to the constant and extreme pain that it can cause. Over the years, it has been my pleasure to help a great deal of people to reduce their pain, often eliminating it altogether, allowing them to start enjoying life again.
Neuro-acupuncture treatment for trigeminal neuralgia is well supported by clinical research and has a low risk of side effects. Many people who receive neuro-acupuncture treatment for trigeminal neuralgia experience pain reduction after their first treatment but often a series of treatments is needed for the full effect.
What Does The Research Say?
"These findings show that acupuncture methods can be effective and safe for PTN [Primary Trigeminal Neuralgia]. Moreover, electronic acupuncture plus manual acupuncture maybe the best acupuncture treatment for PTN and should be administered to PTN patients."
